Burn Ban In Effect
Township-wide burn ban in effect as of April 7, 2021 to prevent the rapid spread of fire due to grass and brush fires.
This burn ban will remain in place until conditions improve and the green grass starts to show through the dead tall grass. The winter season leaves abundant debris (fallen tree branches, leaves, etc.) on the ground, which increases the risk of fire spread.
Furthermore, the fields are extremely soft and would prevent Fire Services from deploying our resources to combat the spread of fire.
All brush and agricultural fires are prohibited during a burn ban (campfires 2ft in diameter, burning WOOD ONLY are permitted). There will be zero tolerance enforcement during the burn ban.
