March 27, 2020 – Federal Government Announcement

The federal government is boosting the wage subsidy to 75% for SMEs to avoid layoffs. Details are still being developed.  More information is expected by Monday March 30th.  The announcement can be found here.  

March 27, 2020 – Township of North Dundas – Residential Waste

The Township of North Dundas has increased the residential waste limit to 3 bags per week to accommodate the additional waste that residents may generate while Staying Home and Staying Safe.  Garbage and recycling collection schedules remain unchanged.  We encourage everyone to continue to recycle responsibly. 

For the protection of our employees and our contractors, we ask that garbage be placed in tied garbage bags, not loose in containers.  If you have been ill, please place any potentially contaminated items in the bag with your garbage, not in your blue box.

On Thursday, March 26th at 4:00 pm, SD&G, Cornwall and Prescott-Russell jointly declared a State of Emergency to better handle the local response to COVID-19.  It is very important for our community to understand that this is done as a precautionary measure and it is not a need to panic. It is imperative that we continue to social distance, stay home and slow down the spread of COVID-19. Our efforts are making a difference.
