The finance and tax department of North Dundas Township prepares and monitors the municipality’s annual budget and updates the township’s capital budget. This department also ensures that internal controls are followed and is responsible for the payment of bills and the collection of accounts receivable.
Taxes are billed and collected on behalf of the Township of North Dundas, as well as various school boards and the United Counties of SD&G. These taxes are based on current property value assessments provided by the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC).
This department processes applications for adjustment of assessments under Section 357 and 358 of the Municipal Act, as well as Requests for Reconsideration to MPAC, Notices of Complaints to the Assessment Review Board, and rebates for vacancies in commercial and industrial buildings.
The finance department also invoices and collects water bills for the municipal water systems and is responsible for the township’s human resources, including benefits for township employees.
