2023 Municipal Budget Officially Adopted by the Council on April 12th

On April 12, 2023, Council for the Township of North Dundas officially adopted the 2023 Municipal budget. Highlights of this year’s budget include:  

  • Over $3.5 million for road, bridge and culvert projects. Improvements to Beach Street, John Street and Harper Street; road projects on Fawcett Road, Marionville Road, Forest Hill Road, and Bisson Road and the replacement of the Nation Valley Bridge at Barkley Creek are planned projects.
  • Over $1 million for improvements to existing recreation facilities and parks and the continuing development of a new park in Hallville.
  • $856 thousand for a new grader, a new ice resurfacer and the construction of a municipal compound with security for Township vehicle storage. 

The approved 2023 Municipal Budget includes a taxation levy of $8,237,709.

How will this impact homeowners? Taxes for a property assessed at $214,000 (median assessment) will increase by $134.80 annually, or $11.23 monthly, representing a 5.41% increase in total taxation over 2022.
