WINCHESTER, Ontario - The Township of North Dundas has entered into a partnership with Beechwood Cemetery to respectfully dispose of old and tattered Canadian flags.
As part of Beechwood Cemetery's Under the Maple Leaf program, Canadian flags that are torn, faded or otherwise no longer suitable for display can be dropped off at the township offices during normal working hours.
Volunteers will ensure these flags are delivered to Beechwood for proper retirement. Flags are cremated to ensures this process is carried out with dignity and minimal environmental impact.
