NOTICE TO RESIDENTS: MAIN STREET WEST SEWAGE PUMPING STATION AND FORCEMAIN CONSTRUCTION

April 2023

This notice is to advise that construction on your street will be undertaken beginning in May 2023.

What: Work will involve the replacement of the sewage pumping station at 12048 Main Street and the replacement of sewers and forcemain under Main Street/County Road 3.

Why: The existing sewage pumping station and forcemain/sewers do not have the capacity to meet ongoing development demands in the region and need to be upgraded.

Access to private properties and local businesses and will be maintained throughout the construction period.

Traffic Impacts
Rolling lane reductions during daytime working hours alternating traffic via flagging can be expected during construction to accommodate the work. Full lanes will be restored at the end of each working day. Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained. The Contractor is required to ensure that homeowners and businesses have access to their property at all times. In the event that access to your driveway is temporarily restricted for a short period due to construction activities, you will be contacted in advance by the project team.

Accessibility
Accessibility is an important consideration for the Township. The Township makes every effort to provide access through and around construction sites. If you require a disability-related accommodation, please contact the undersigned.

Impact on the Right of Way and Adjacent Private Properties
The reconstruction is within the United County of SDG’s right of way and private properties are not anticipated to be impacted. The Township will reinstate sections of landscaping, driveways and walkways that are disturbed by construction.

Pre-Construction Inspection
The Contractor will be completing pre-construction inspections of consenting homes in the work area. You will receive a separate notice from Blastek, the Contractor’s subcontractor, to carry out an inspection. The purpose of the pre-construction inspection is to document current building and landscape conditions before construction commences. In addition, you may wish to complete your own survey of pre-construction conditions on your property. Your survey should include photographs.

As part of this Contract, the Contractor is assuming full responsibility for the construction work until it is entirely complete as well as any damages to private property resulting from these construction activities. In the event of such occurrences, all claims for damages should be immediately reported both verbally and in writing to the Contractor and to the Township’s on-site Representative. This will ensure prompt notification of appropriate authorities to complete the claim investigations.

Construction Disruptions
The Contractor will take every precaution to minimize interruptions to the everyday life of your family and/or operation of your business, but, as you can appreciate, there may be some inconvenience during the course of the work, such as traffic delays, noise and dust.
