The Township of North Dundas and the Ontario Clean Water Agency (OCWA) wishes to advise users of Chesterville’s Drinking Water System that major maintenance is being performed on Chesterville’s water tower from May through to the end of November 2022.
The water tower will be drained in order for maintenance work to be carried out. For the duration of the project, the village’s water distribution system will be fed directly by high lift pumps at the Water Treatment Plant (WTP). While every attempt will be made to stabilize system pressures, there may be occurrences of both high and low system pressure throughout the village. Should you experience significantly low (or high) water pressure, please contact the Ontario Clean Water Agency at 800-342-6442.
During this period, water users must refrain from drawing large quantities of water from the distribution system. Residents are asked to keep lawn watering to a minimum until the water tower is back online.
If any situations of no water pressure occur during this time, please assume a precautionary Boil Water Advisory to be in place once water service has been restored, unless or until we have notified otherwise.
Note that in order to allow for continuous work until completion, construction may occur Monday-Sunday from 7:00am to 5:30pm. Nearby residents may experience some noise disturbances during this time.
If there are any questions or concerns regarding the maintenance work on the water tower, please contact the OCWA Project Managers: James Su - 905-301-8541, jsu@ocwa.com and Raj Roopchand - 416-427-7747, rajroopchand@ocwa.com.
